Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart.

Obsidian blades are known to be the sharpest knives on earth. Their edge is 3 nanometers thick, which is 500 times sharper than a razor blade. Needless to say you would not want to accidentally slice yourself with this blade. It would cause far greater damage than you might expect. But do you know there is something out there that is sharper!

What? Glad you asked. It is the word of God. It is so sharp that it can separate bone from marrow. It also can slice through and divide the spirit from the soul. This means that nothing you try to hide will remain hidden. The word seeks truth and it will find what it is looking for. This is why confession of sin is so important. There is no way we can hide any sin from God because he will find it.

This also applies to the heart and mind. Jesus tells us our hearts are full of evil. Our minds meditate on this evil. God sees it all. This is why Him coming to this earth and sacrificing Himself on the cross is so powerful. He knows who, what and how we are. But He still chose to save us. He chose to take our punishment. And He is waiting for you to come to Him in humble submission. Will you today?
