Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2. through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Works do not save us. We are justified by faith in Jesus Christ. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Our hope is that we will be saved from the evil of our sin and the evil of this world. The evidence is the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We have not seen Jesus but we have read the Word of God. It tells us accounts of His life. Then there is the historical evidence of Jesus. There are more accounts of Jesus than most other figures in history.
This should give us peace in our daily walk. We can be confident that one day we will see Jesus face to face. He holds us in His hand and will not let anyone or anything take us out. And through our faith in Him we know that when we slip and sin as a Christian, He will be quick to forgive with our confession. We can stand in Him and be joyful. Joy is not like happiness. It is not based on the way the wind blows. It is based in a relationship with our Lord.
But again, our faith in Jesus is what makes this all possible. Do you have that faith in Him? Do you know Him as savior? If not, you have heard the gospel in this short devotional. It is my prayer it will help you draw in to Him and have His salvation. He is just waiting on You. May your day be blessed.
