Revelation 12:4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour the Child as soon as it was born.

Satan is a powerful angel. He has harassed humanity then has killed, stolen and destroyed since the days of Adam. In fact, he was so deceiving and cunning that he talked a third of the angels in heaven into joining him rebelling against God. Now imagine being in heaven where everything is perfect and being angry enough to join a rebellion. All because of the pride of an angel named Lucifer.

But the thing to consider is that Lucifer is not God’s equal. He never has been and never will be. He was thrown out of heaven, along with his cohort by another angel. He is by no means a match for God. He is not omnipresent, omniscient or omnipotent. In other words, he cannot not be everywhere, he cannot see everything and he does not know everything like God. But he has always sought to stop the lineage of Jesus. His purpose since the garden has been to destroy the Son of God from coming to earth.

Satan is a powerful force for people like you and me. He is like a roaring lion seeking our lives. He will destroy you and your family. Not because of who we are but because of who God is. God loved us enough to send His son to save us. So we are loved with the love of God. He seeks to harm us because of that love God loves us with. The only way to overcome the attacks is with the power of God. But you have to be a born again child of God to use that power. Have you had that experience of being saved?
