Philippians 3:8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ.

Look around and see all the things that you have accumulated over the years. Look at the furniture, the clothes, the vehicles, and look at your bank account. Whatever you have God has blessed you with. There is nothing wrong with these things because God has allowed you to have it. Then think about the blessing of your health and the rather comfortable lifestyle in which you live. Then thank God for that blessing.

Paul was the person God chose to spread His gospel to people like you and me. This meant he had to give up all he knew and that his countrymen would turn their backs on Him. He would suffer poverty, beatings, being hungry and being in the ocean multiple times due to shipwreck. He did it all to serve the God who suffered for him. He looked back and counted all that was worldly as rubbish. He did this because of the realization of who he was serving.

God sent His Son, His name is Jesus. He is the Word who created everything we know. He left heaven and came to earth and walked in the flesh after being virgin born. He preached true salvation and gave His life to save yours. He did this through suffering and pain. He died, was buried and then resurrected. This is who Paul was serving and gave all for. What about you? Will you serve Him today? Will you give up whatever He wants you to so you could serve Him? The call is worthy and so is our God!
