James 5:7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit on the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rains.
There has been a lot of talk on social media about the rapture the last several days. We see war and rumors of wars from countries all over the world. Earthquakes and volcanos are erupting more frequently. People are angry and turning on one another. So the stage seems to be set for the rapture indeed.
What are we as Christian people supposed to do during these times? James tells us to be patient. We are to be like a farmer. We are to plant seed and wait for the fruit that springs forth. What is this seed? It is the word of God. We are to go forth and take Jesus to the world. Then let God do what He intends with the seed that is spread. We are to do this and watch as the seed that is planted in people receive the water it needs to grow. Maybe this water is the tears from the guilt of sin we commit. In other words repentance.
Repentance may come early in the process or it may come late. We who spread the word are not to do nothing while we wait. No, farmers have to tend the crop until harvest. So we are to pray, encourage and support until God works His plan into fruition. So go forth today sowing seed. The harvest will be plentiful according to the Word.
