Nehemiah 9:19 Yet in Your manifold mercies You did not forsake them in the wilderness. The pillar of the cloud did not depart from them by day, To lead them on the road. Nor did the pillar of fire by night, to show them the light. And the way they should go.

Being friends with someone is not easy. Through our flaws we understand that forgiveness is the key to having a long lasting relationship. When we decide not to be forgiving the friendship ends. We are a fickle bunch. One day everything is fine then the next we are ready to set the world on fire. It is hard to understand why anyone would be in lock step with anybody else.

Is it not comforting to know that our God is a patient and understanding God. He believes in us and forgives us over and over again. Like I said we are fickle and flawed. We struggle with sin and obedience. We deserve punishment and penalty. But He in His loving grace makes it possible to find grace and mercy. His ways are so much higher and better than ours. But so many think of God as the grouchy old man sitting in a rocking chair waiting for us to mess up so He can smack us down.

This is definitely no the picture of God in a biblical understanding. From the beginning He has treated us with kindness. He has shown patient. This is the essence of God. He is like this because He loves us. If we just could realize the depth of this love. Why not start the journey to finding this out for yourself today?
