2 Peter 1:4 Through these promises you can share in the divine nature, being rid of the corruption caused by this world’s evil desires.

Through the promises that have always been, we can share in the divine nature. These promises are all throughout the scriptures, not only in the new testament but also in the old testament. Genesis 3 tells us that the snake will bite the heel of the promised One, but the promised One will crush the snake’s head. The snake of course is Satan. We know the promised One is Jesus.

Ridding ourselves of the corruption is accepting the promised One as savior then following his commands. This is a process that makes people take pause and think. It is as if the corrupt way of life clings to us. We know it, and we don’t want to change. We think that living the way Jesus wants us to will somehow hamstring us and that we will be cheated out of experiencing life. This is a lie from hell because Jesus is our creator. He knows what we need and the best way to live to have a great life.

Just imagine that if we decide to follow Jesus we are living the only hell we will experience on this earth. In turn know that if you do not accept Him as savior then you are experiencing all the heaven you will experience on this earth. Now is the familiar sin and corrupt living worth missing out on heaven? I hope you would think not. Be blessed.
