Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13. bearing with one another, and forgiving one another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

The fruits of the Spirit of God is given to the elect. But just like earthly fruit; what good is spiritual fruit if it is not used for its intended purpose? We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus. When I read the bible Jesus was longsuffering and tender to the people he ministered to. Should we not do the same?

We should. We should bear with our fellow man. We should be humble in telling them and showing them what Jesus is all about. When times get tough we should not falter but be longsuffering, knowing that the testing of our faith builds us into the image of our God. We should be meek like the powerful race horse under control running a strong race till the end. Showing patience to those who are ignorant of the truth.

But why should we do these things? Because we are forgiven by the grace and mercy of a loving Savior. We should minister to people like we were ministered to. This is our reasonable service to God. There are millions of unsaved people in this world. But let’s be more proportional, there are people in your town that have never heard the gospel. Are you willing to be humble, meek and longsuffering to minister to them?
