Isaiah 41:17 The poor and needy seek water, but there is none. I the Lord, will hear them. I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.

Who is actually poor and needy? There are the physical needs a person has to live. We have to have food and water. The Lord provides these in may ways to people. The rain falls on the just and unjust. Fruit grows from trees and plants from the ground. God makes these processes possible. But what is true poverty and the true need?

Jesus tells us through a parable in John 4 when talking to the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well that He is the living water. In other words the Spirit of Life will give life through His word and His action. So our true need is not the physical need but the spiritual need. Being without the saving knowledge of Jesus is true poverty. Finding His grace is the true need. Are you seeking the Living Water?

Mark 10:15 says that we are to receive the kingdom of God as little children. This means we are to trust in God as we trust in our parents when we were children and had to depend on them for all. Our hearts and minds should trust in Jesus totally. Do you trust in Him like a child? He is willing to give the living water freely. Will you drink it? I am praying that you do.
