Luke 12:51-53 “Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. For from now on five in one house will be divided, three against two, and two against three. Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother in law against her daughter in law and daughter in law against her mother in law.

Jesus came to change the mindset of people who did not really understand who God is and what he is about. Even today we live in a world whose people like to stick their head in the sand and deny God. Not the false gods or the gods made with hands but the God of creation. The God who is so holy that He can not even look upon sin. But the God who loves so much that he did not even spare His own Son. Doing so that we may know Him personally.

Jesus turned everything upside down. He made it clear here in Luke that He was always going to be a pivot point. That following Him would cause division with worldly systems and people. Look at the world today. There is protest in the streets against Christianity. Against the idea that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. A culture of death and destruction has shown itself on the streets of every major city. Do not believe in Mohammad then be killed. Do not believe in abortion or sexual choice go to jail.

The time is at hand, plant your feet where you know is right and stand firm. Jesus came to send fire to the earth. He was the spark that caused a blaze to burn satan and his followers down. Where will you stand? Who will you stand with? The battle is fierce but the enemy fights the hardest when they know the battle is lost!
