Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

The Israelite people were appointed a High priest that was the Spiritual leader of their nation. The first was Aaron, Moses brother. He was responsible for the Tabernacle and the sacrifices that covered the sins of the nation. It was a sacrificial system that required the blood of animals to atone for sin. The problem was that as soon as the sacrifice was performed the next breath sin was committed. And the sacrificial ritual had to be performed again and again. This would have been a perpetual everlasting routine.

After Jesus came and sacrificed Himself for our sin and was resurrected, that old animal sacrificial system was ended. Now we have the opportunity to know the True High Priest, the Son of God. His sacrifice was perfect because He was perfect. There is no more need for sacrifices because His sacrifice paid the penalty for all sin. He knew no sin but yet was made sin or us. How great is our God!

Let us hold fast to our confession. In other words come quickly, come with praise and come with worship for His great gift to us. He alone is worthy of these. Do you know Him? Tomorrow is promised to no one. Seek Him. Ask forgiveness. Ask Him to be the king of your heart. Submit to his light yoke. You will not be sorry.
