Mark 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.
Jesus had seen the disciples turning the children away from Him. He did not like what was happening in this moment. First, the people who were supposed to be helping Him spread his message was turning them away. In this time and culture children were seen as a nuisance. Jesus changed the mindset here, He wanted them to come to Him. They were precious in His sight. No one is too small for the Savior of the world to save.
Second, He told them let them come and do not forbid them. He was tired and was still willing to show His love to them. We as people show our true colors when we are tired. Our illness and snappiness comes out. We want to pull away and be alone. When we come to the point that we can overcome this, then we are showing the influence of Jesus on us. It is the tough times when we are truly seen.
Third, the kingdom of heaven is such as these. In other words there are no grandchildren in heaven. We cannot come into the presence of Jesus on account of someone else. Not even if our grandparents laid the carpet in the church we currently attend. Not even if we have parents that have given millions of dollars to the church. The only way to heaven is for you to have a personal relationship with Him. Go to your local church today and seek that relationship. Jesus is waiting for you there.
