Proverbs 20:17 Bread gained by deceit is sweet to a man. But afterwards his mouth will be filled with gravel.
You are never so easily fooled as when trying to fool someone else-Rochefoucauld.
Being deceitful is like putting on a disguise to fool others, but actually fooling yourself. In the end the only one that is truly hurt is the deceiver. Envy can be a mean seductress. It sucks you in to thinking you need something and it will convince you to do anything to have your obsession. Or there may be a genuine need such as hunger that drives you to steal to eat. Whatever the motivator the end is often detrimental. The ends do not justify the means.
There is a way that seems right to man, But its end is the way of death. Proverbs 14:12. We spend our time focusing on the wrong things. Our focus is placed to low. We should have our eyes on God and His purpose for us. We make plans from our earthly positions, not from our heavenly promise. instead of starting in prayer and seeking Gods will, we seek to pull ourselves out of the muck by our own means.
Not matter the problem and no matter how we respond, if God is not in it then it is futility. We need to put Him first. Seek His will and follow. He created us in the first place. He knows the plans He has for us. Are we willing to listen? Whatever places itself in your path today make sure you are prayed up with ears open. He will guide you in the right path.
