Job 28:28 And to man He said, “Behold the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom. And to depart from evil is understanding.
Job has been disparaged by his so called friends and he starts to speak on God’s ways. He knows he is being truthful to the men around him but they doubt him. They think the bad things that Job has suffered are his fault. He has been defending himself but now he delves into God’s word with them. This is the place were he should have started.
Job was suffering for God’s glory. Satan showed up to a meeting way back in the first chapter, and God told him to consider His servant Job. He challenged God on the faithfulness Job had. This led to all the bad Job encountered. God did not cause this suffering; He just allowed it. He knew Job would not fail.
God did not step in to stop the suffering. He did not ease the pain Job felt. But he was with Job the whole time. Job at the end realized through the suffering who God truly was even in the fire. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, Job repeated. How faithful Job truly was. He understood this life was not all there is. He understood there would be a time when he would be with God eternally.
it is my prayer that it does not take a Job moment to make you understand how great God truly is. I hope you find His salvation with the understanding that turning from evil is true understanding. Be wise and understand what God is offering you and what it cost Him.
