Galatians 2:21″I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.
God gave Moses ten laws better known as the ten commandments. The Pharisees and Sadducees over time added over another six-hundred laws. The Jewish people had more laws than they could shake a stick at. Did this make them more righteous? No. It made them more burdened. It drove them to be doers of the law and not care about their fellow man.
The grace of God comes from the death of His Son Jesus. He came to satisfy the penalty required of us and for our sin. Without Him there was no hope for us. Because if the law was the way to grace, then we would only fail over and over again. Being destined to eternal separation from Him.
The law showed us that we need Jesus. Jesus fulfilled the law when he came and gave Himself up for us. We need to seek Him for the forgiveness of our sin. This is the way. The only way to truly have grace and mercy.
