John 4:24 “God is Spirit. and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

God is spirit. He does not choose to display Himself in physical form at this time. Jesus came in the form of a man so that He could take on our sin. That act made it possible for us to be forgiven spiritually. So his decision to take on flesh was for our sake. The Father, again as Jesus points out in this scripture is Spirit. He cannot be seen by human eye but we know if we search for Him that He is real.

So when we worship we worship in our spirit. Our surrounding does not matter such as buildings or comfortable pews. The thing that matters is the part of you, the inner man or woman, your thoughts and feelings these are what we are to use to worship. The spirit you have is the real you not the flesh that covers you. Do you worship in the flesh or the spirit?

There are many who want to look good to others so they act out worship. This is foolish because God looks at the inner person. He sees their heart. When you truly worship, the heart, mind and soul cry out to His Spirit. He sees the real worship and He sees the truth in that action. You can not fool God. So do not fool yourself. God will not be mocked.
