Psalm 69: 9 Because zeal for your house has eaten me up, And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me.

In this Psalm David is asking God for help and mercy. His enemies have grown and are nipping at his heels. He repents to God for the sins he has committed. He is in the pit and wants help to get out. He thinks back and prays that what he has done will not reflect poorly on the house of God.

Fast forward to John 2:16&17. Jesus has strung together cords and is the process of driving out the money changers. He tells them that they have made His Fathers house a house of Merchandise. He is angered because the actions are reflecting poorly on God. Jesus is showing his zeal for His Fathers house.

Where they were performing these transactions is the outer court. A place for the gentiles or non-Jews to gather and learn about God. They were sinning and hurting Gods holiness. He run these Jewish merchants out because He wanted everyone to know Gods goodness.

From the beginning God has had all humans on His mind and wants to let us know He loves us. He wants us to know Him and the love He has for us. It is my prayer that you will find that love.
