Ecclesiastes 3:15 That which has already been, And what is to be has already been; And God requires an account of what is past.

There is nothing new up under the sun. The past is the past and the future is the past when it comes to God’s view point. Confusing right! But it is the truth. There is nothing you have done that can be hidden from God. There is nothing that you are going to do that God does not know. Time is a construct for man not Him.

What should we learn from this? From the beginning after God used His word to create the heavens and the earth, every second has been and will be funneled to one moment. It is a moment that has been seen and approved by Him. It is a time when every man will be required to give an answer for His actions. For the Christian, it is a time for Him to judge how well we testified to His saving grace. For the one who refused to accept the gift of grace, a sentence sending him or her out of His presence.

I know this is a deeper and more sobering devotion, but it is one we need to hear. Jesus came and died on a cross to save us from our sin. Why? Because only God can know the true meaning of a person’s soul perishing. And that caused him to show us mercy through His sacrifice. There is only one question left. What have you done with Jesus?
