Romans 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patients and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

Time and effort is the key to a successful life. This concept was taught to me by a farmer I worked for long ago. He rose early in the morning and went to bed late a night. In between there was a whole lot of effort. He loved what he did for a living and his success was not based on money. It was based on how well his crops and cattle were cared for.

The men who God used to write the scriptures; I imagine, had the same mindset. They put in time and effort to write with care what the Holy Spirit led them to write. In their thoughts was the intention of teaching other people what God had shown them. It was not about money or their glory. It was about leading others to a saving knowledge of the Messiah.

I thank God on a regular basis for the Word. I also thank Him for the effort that was put into preserving it and the willingness of other people to share it with me. It gives me comfort to know that my eternity will be in the presence of my Lord. It is my prayer that through the words I write that someone might come to that same knowledge. I truly thank you for reading. May God richly bless our day!
