John 4:35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months then comes the harvest? Behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!

Jesus was at the well in Samaria .His disciples had come back and the woman at the well had gone to tell others about Him. They asked him to eat. Maybe he looked tired or looked thin, but they were worried about Him physically. He told them He has food to eat that they do not know of. They did not understand what He was telling them.

Then He told them the above verse. Their minds were not open to the spiritual meaning. Look around the fields are ready! There are millions of people who do not know about Him. They are ready to hear the good news! Their souls are in the balance and they’re not enough people to harvest the bounty. What a completely eye opening statement.

We often fret about the great commission. We are called to go forth to tell and teach. But we look at ourselves and those around us, then are scared to open our mouths. Why? We must realize the stakes! They do not know! Who will tell them? Bless are the feet that bring the news of Jesus Christ. You were blessed by a pair of those feet if you know Him as Lord and Savior.

Be a good servant today. Go forth to the field of harvest and start gathering for the kingdom of God. Sure there will be some who will reject what you tell them. But if there is just one person you tell and they give their life to Him, isn’t it worth it? The Samaritan woman realized what had been done for her, she went forth and told everyone. She understood, won’t you?
