Tribalism is a fact in this world. People from the same cultures tend to stay within that culture. Samaritans were considered half-breeds by the Israelite’s. They inter-married with different tribes when the country was conquered. This was against the commands of God, so the Israelite’s despised them.

Jesus was a rebel against tribalism and culturalism. So that is what the Jewish religious authorities would say and teach. Jesus came to bring all together under the umbrella of God. We are all created in the image of God and Jesus died for all.

When Jesus went to Samaria He broke the rules of the culture. Jews would walk hundreds of miles and cross a river twice so not to step foot in the country. Jesus intentionally went there to meet the woman at the well. This meeting sparked a revival and thousands of souls were saved.

If you too want to be a rebel for Christ, then step out of the culturalism and tribalism. Find someone who is different than you and tell them about Jesus. We are all commanded to go forth and make disciples of all nations.
