isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have all gone astray. We have turned, every one, to his own way. And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Sheep are not known for their genius. They struggle without someone leading them. I once watched one put his head through a square opening in a fence. He turned his head to the left and without the help of his owner. or shepherd, he would have stayed there, struggling. No my friends not very smart.

We like sheep go astray without someone leading us. We are sinful and do not see the danger that lays in front of us. That means that the enemy has an open gate to attack us. We like sheep need a shepherd for protection. Not just a shepherd but a good shepherd.

Who is that shepherd? It is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Why would we consider Him our good Shepherd? Because he was willing to come and take all of the punishment we deserve. He took the beating, humiliation and suffering for us.

Why would he do this? Because for one we could not save ourselves. Our good works are not worthy of the offenses we have committed. There needed to be a perfect sacrifice. One that was sinless and perfect. This is Jesus. He suffered for you and me. The Good Shepherd. Come to know Him today!
