Psalm 17:5 Uphold my steps in your paths, That my footsteps may not slip.
The longest journey is shortened after you take your first step. That is to say we have to start the journey in order to finish the journey. Have you started the journey with Jesus? If not today is the day.
How do we walk during our spiritual travels? If you are like most people there is a lot of slips and falls. This is common during life on this earth. But it is also common during our spiritual walk as well. Our lives are full of slip ups and falls. The question I have though is do you stay down?
Jesus told a story about a prodigal son. He asked for his inheritance and then left his father’s house. He went to a far country and lived a sinful life. He found himself after he lost all, in the pig pen wallering in the mud. But he didn’t stay there, he got up and went back to his father to ask repentance.
This is the story of a person who walked and fell but Jesus upheld him. He asked for forgiveness and it was granted. This is the story of us. We can continue to waller, or we can ask forgiveness and get up. The choice is yours.
