1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world- the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father but of the world.

Sin can be like a riddle for those who do not know Jesus. So, with the head of an elephant and the tail of a monkey, my touch can be deadly if you are unlucky. I am an excellent swimmer, But if you wet me I will holler, and racing me would be pure folly. What am I?

Confusing isn’t it. So to sum up sin in a few words we have this verse above. It helps us to whittle sin down into three categories. Lust of the flesh, eyes and pride of life. These are the areas we must pay the most attention too. The flesh feels it, the eyes sees it and pride makes us want it. Before we know it if we are not careful then we are living a confused life.

Now what is the answer to the riddle? Electricity, of course. Like sin it will knock you, grab you and be deadly if you are unlucky. Now what is the answer to the sin riddle? Jesus. His whole purpose for coming to this earth was to free you from the quagmire of this world.
