Ephesians 6:14 having put on the the breastplate of righteousness.

Jesus tells us in Luke 6:45 that a good man out of his heart brings good treasure of of his heart. He then states that an evil man brings evil treasure out of his heart. That means the heart is full of good or evil. What makes the difference between the two? It has to do with how well you protect your heart.

Part of the Armor of God is a breastplate. A breastplate was so important to the Roman soldier because of the enemy using knives, swords and arrows to injure or kill him. The breastplate protected the vital organs. In the same way the breastplate of righteousness protects the Christians heart. The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy. The breastplate protects our most vital possession, the spiritual heart.

What is this breastplate? It is in the name. The breastplate of righteousness. The righteousness given to us by the Lord is our breastplate. It is not of us, it is of Him. He gives us the righteousness and it protects us. How? Through our faith in Him. Our belief and discipleship. We must draw close to His righteousness through faith.

If your heart is not where it needs to be and is struggling with sin. Then come to Him through faith. Ask forgiveness of your sins and acknowledge Him as Lord. It cures the heart of the real disease.
