1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered for us once for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit.

Suffering is not a word we want to hear. It brings thought pictures of the martyrs that have suffered. But we need to remember Christ suffered for us more than any suffering we can imagine. That alone should give you an understanding in what could happen to us for His sake.

Through His suffering we the unjust, were made just, because of the love he showed us. He was put to death because of our sin. The greatest suffering he sustained, I contend is the when the Father turned from Him while our sin was placed on Him. He suffered that for you and me.

There will be times when we are witnessing for Christ that people may have an agenda of hate. This hate for Him may lead them to harm us. How do we handle that? Peter encourages us further in chapter 3 to show them kindness. Wow! Be kind to the ones who want to hurt us. This is called showing the grace of Jesus.

What is life? It is supposed to be time spent coming to know, grow and show who and what Jesus is about. Pray today for him to show you His will for your life. Be ready, it will always lead you to a place of being uncomfortable. Why? This is how you grow.
