Ruth 1:16 But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you will go, I will go; And wherever you lodge I will lodge; Your people will be my people, And your God my God.

These are some of the most beautiful verses in the bible. Ruth, Orpha and Naomi were on the road leading to Judah. Naomi had lost her husband and two sons and the two women who were with her had lost their husbands. Naomi had no future, she had lost all because she had no one left to take care of her. She was destitute with no way to make a living. The future was bleak and she was headed back to Judah to at least be with her family. Maybe one of them would help her.

Orpha and Ruth were young, they still could find a husband and have a future. Naomi told them to go back to Moab because death was very likely for them if they followed her. Orpha turned back and was never heard from again in the scriptures. Really who could blame her? She understood how difficult life was about to be. She looked at the world around her and not God.

Ruth made a decision that day though that would eventually change her life for the better. But at this moment she could not even think of the future. She just knew she loved Naomi and wanted to be with her no matter what. As the verses state, she was willing to face anything. What faith this woman had.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 17:20 that if we have faith even the size of a mustard seed we can move mountains. It was not easy but at the end Ruth’s faith proved that saying correct. She followed Naomi to Judah and eventually caught the attention of Boaz. She found her redeemer. What does your faith tank look like? Is it full or empty? Take a lesson from Ruth, have faith in a loving God. He will not leave you nor forsake you. Keep going your Redeemer waits for you!

Ruth’s unwavering faith is truly inspiring. Even in the darkest of times, she trusted God’s plan and chose loyalty over comfort. Her story reminds us that even small faith can lead to great blessings. Keep trusting, the Redeemer is faithful…

He is faithful. It is the times when all seems lost, that He is waiting to show us just how much so.
