Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.

Our sin is the most harmful substance in our lives. Left uncleaned it ruins everything it touches. Look around at everything that surrounds you, do you want to preserve what really matters? The only way is forgiveness.

We as humans tend to base life on our perspective. If that is skewed then the problem has to be out there, away from us. I haven’t done anything that bad. My good outweighs my bad. Does these sentences sound familiar? We sin. Our thoughts betray us, our flesh betrays us and our hearts betray us. We were born into this disease.

How do we get rid of it? We ask forgiveness from the one who paid the penalty for them. Jesus! He loved us that much. He was born into this world, walked as we do and was sinless. He came down from the mountain top to help us. We just need to humble ourselves and except his offer. Then the curse is over, we are free.

What then? Then the hard part starts. We start learning how to be the person God created us to be. The first step is to learn to forgive others. Being like Christ requires us to act like Him. No one said it would be easy. But forgiveness of others is the beginning of our new lives.

Forgive us our debts as we forgive the debts of others! It is a great feeling not to carry the burdens of grudges and hard feelings. My prayer is that you find both. May God bless you richly today.
