Matthew 6: 9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed by thy name.

The beginning of the Lord’s prayer. This is the prayer by which Jesus teaches his disciples, and therefore us, to pray. This is a model for us to follow. We can pray it exactly as Jesus did, or we can can use this a fish bone sketch to follow.

We are taught to start where it all begins, Our Father. Jehovah-The Self Revealing One. Elohim- The All Powerful Creator. Adonai-The Owner of All. El Shaddai-The Almighty Sufficient One. Looking at His names you can see the reason why we start there.

He is the Owner, the Sufficient and All Powerful Creator. In His name there is power. If we want to be helped, given or comforted, then the only place to start is with Him. All to often we wait until the end of a matter before we pray. If we were to reverse that, then we would have an easier time in getting what we need.

The most amazing idea in this point is that He would listen to us. What does that mean? It means He is El Brit-The God of Covenant. He created us to be in relationship with Him. He desires this! Wow! The God who loved us so much that he came down to make it possible to dwell with Him. How blessed are we?
