Deuteronomy 4:24 tells us, “For the LORD your god is a consuming fire, a jealous God.” God will not share His glory with anyone or anything. He is the Author of everything. Without Him nothing would exist.

Why then do human beings put false gods, possessions and themselves before an Almighty God? Pride is a major factor. We try to make the world and anything else about us. It has to fit our thinking, our way and out time. But the bible tells us pride goes before a great fall.

The old testament story about the history of Israel shows us more about us than we realize. They were living life in a circle. They worshiped God. The started sinning. Suffered for their sin, then repented. God forgave them, then the cycle would start over. We have the same problem.

There is coming a day when every knee will bow and every word out of mans mouth praises Jesus as King of Kings. All false gods and idols will be destroyed. Before that happens know everyday is an opportunity to know Him as Savior.
