James 1:14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.

The mind is a battlefield. If you do not believe it just take a journal and write down every thought you have for one day. You will be amazed at the sinful thought you encounter.

But so often we hear sayings such as, “The devil made me do it.” The devil didn’t make you do it, he brought it to your awareness. When you became aware, then you let the thought stick around. Then when the thought stays in your mind and you fall into the sin.

This is why it is so important to take hold of your thoughts. Because when we let sin abide in our thoughts then we act on those thoughts. Be sober and vigilant. The enemy is crafty. Do not let him take space in your mind.

Instead, memorize scripture. Meditate on these scriptures. You will be surprised how your thought life will change.
