James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Have you ever heard excuses like, the devil made me do it. I have a genetic disposition to act this way. Here is a common one, I grew up in an environment that led me to this behavior.

This is what the world acts like and the excuses they use. It isn’t there fault. They can’t help it. James tells us different. We can overcome. The way we do that takes work though. We have to read the Word. Pray the Word and speak the Word.

Jesus is our example. I know we aren’t perfect and we sin. We do not have wallow in the sin though like a pig in mud. Jesus never sinned, he was perfect in all His ways. When we do fall we should get up. Then ask forgiveness and then resist the devil.

Isn’t it good though to know Jesus has forgiven us. Even better to know that no matter how big the sin His sacrifice is bigger. Don’t give in, resist. Trust in Jesus and He will clean the mud off.
