Proverbs 2:6 For the Lord gives wisdom, from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.

Getting gifts is good for the countenance. It lets us know that there is someone out there in this dark world that cares. You must admit, that moment before you find out what the gift is makes a few butterflies float in your belly.

Luke 6: 38 tells us the Lord gives in good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over! Knowing that makes my soul so joyful. The Creator of all things wants to give me; a reclaimed sinner, this much! God is so good.

More exciting to me is what He wants to give. He gives wisdom, knowledge and understanding. These are much greater than diamonds, silver and gold. Greater because if you don’t have the former, the latter does you no good!

The beginning of wisdom, knowledge and understanding is to know Him. If you do not know Him then what do you truly know? If it isn’t full of the three gifts He gives then it is like walking on sinking sand.

Don’t be swallowed up by the sinking sand. Find Him and ask for forgiveness. Then receive His gifts and live life full of His joy.
