Romans 13:14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lust.

According to statistics 40 percent of Americans are obese. Studies have found that around 11 percent of Americans are addicted to pornography. Around 10 percent of Americans are addicted to some form of illicit drug.

Why? Because the flesh left to its own devices will always fulfill its lust. There is no questioning this looking back over history fleshly living produces terrible results. We have to realize we are all under this curse.

What should we do? We should give ourselves to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We should follow His word. It tells us to crucify the flesh daily. Take our fleshly wants and nail them to a cross. This is the only way.

Jesus is our example. He submitted to the will of the Father and allowed Himself to hang on a wooden cross, for us. He took the penalty for our sins. We should be submissive and hang our fleshly lust the same way.

This can only be accomplished if we are twice born. We have to acknowledge His Lordship over our life first. Then live under His discipleship. The path has been laid out for us. The only question is will we follow it?
