Philippians 3:7 NKJV — But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.

What have you accomplished in your life that you are proud of? Have you gotten that degree you worked so hard to get? Did you receive that raise you worked hard to get? What is it?

If the Spirit prompted you to turn in a direction you thought was opposite of your desire and hardwork, would you? Which would sit on the thrown of your heart?

Paul made it clear that all that he thought was gain to him was worthless compared to Christ. Now that is a sobering picture of obedience. It would serve us well to copy his example.

Truthfully, a degree will not save your soul! An accomplishment will fade away. Life is fleeting and worldly things go away. Your soul is eternal, it will exist somewhere. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He made it possible to enter Heaven. He should be the preeminent concern in your daily life. Seek Him; all else is sinking sand.
