James 5:7 NKJV — Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.
Patients is a true virtue. The problem is we are to busy to appreciate that virtue. Our society is a now society. Everything is at the tip of our fingers and we don’t want to wait.
When we plant our garden, do we harvest the fruit the next day? No. We have to wait for God’s process to appreciate what the vines produce. It takes time and effort.
James tells us the testing of our faith produces patients. Maybe that is the problem. We know without Jesus we will fail the test. Why then do we not want Jesus to help? Because we want to be our own master.
No friends, when we try to be the captain of our lives it doesn’t work. We end up on the rocks. Give it to Jesus, let’s put our faith in Him and watch as the testing of our faith produce real fruit.
