Psalm 1:1 NKJV — Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

If you lay with dogs you will get fleas. Have you ever heard this? Just a bit of folk wisdom. But there is truth there.

Solomon tells us here if we listen to counsel of the ungodly, we will not be blessed. If we walk with sinners, we will sin. Not to be scornful; wisdom drips from these words.

It is hard to make it everyday without encountering bad situations.  Nearly impossible. But instead of being part of the crowd, stand out. How? Be in the Word. Take it in and digest it. Pray, then listen. Meditate on His goodness.

We may encounter the dogs of this world, but we don’t have to lay with them. Choose wisely!
