James 4:3 NKJV — You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
We as humans start out getting what we want. How? When we are babies we cry. Then we get fed or changed. When we are toddlers we begin to get trained on what is expected of us. Most of us when we reach adulthood are now ready to do the same as we were shown.
Sometimes during this process the mark is missed. We still act immature and end up traveling the wrong roads of life. It is a bumpy road for sure with no spiritual growth.
The same can be said about our spiritual walk. We miss the mark because we want it to be easy. We ask things to make our journey simple. We avoid the task that mature us.
When this happens we miss drawing closer to Jesus. He wants us to ask Him for help. But if we avoid our growth spiritually, for our comfort physically, then how do we get to be the person He wants us to become?
