Psalm 32:5 NKJV — I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
There is an old story about the frog and the scorpion. The scorpion needs to get to the other side of a pond. He strikes a deal with the frog to let him ride on the frogs back to make it across. Halfway through he stings the frog and they both drown. The moral is we are who we are.
We are born into sin and there is no changing who we are. No matter how rich, intelligent or accomplished we are, we are sinners. Sin is a very pervasive thing. It permeates us and our environment.
How do we respond? We first start with confession, then repentance and we then put our trust in Jesus admitting Him as Lord. There is no other way. We can’t work enough, we can’t give enough and we can’t talk our way out of it. Everything depends on Him.
