Proverbs 29:5 NKJV — A man who flatters his neighbor
Spreads a net for his feet.
A slick tongue. Someone who tickles the ears of another. Maybe the reason is personal gain. Maybe it is out of a greedy desire. Whatever the reason someone with this talent for words might engage in this pratice, God doesn’t like it.
We are to let our yes be yes and our no be no. There is no need for flattery. Christians are to be people trustworthy of our calling.
Sin is like this too. Looks good and sounds good but in the end it leads to a bad outcome. A trap set long ago, and if we are not diligent we fall into. Be wary and full of Godly wisdom.
