Joel 2:12 NKJV — “Now, therefore,” says the LORD,
“Turn to Me with all your heart,
With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”

The last part of this verse seems to not fit with turning to the Lord. But if we take time to do some self-examination, we would understand the last part better.

We are prone to inclinations into sin. We wrap ourselves in it. We glory in it. We are like pigs in mud! We gossip. We lie. We are full of pride. Is it not so?

When we come face to face with a Holy God, we should cry and fast. We should because of His goodness to us. Our sin hurts His heart. He can’t accept sin. It is against His nature.

If you haven’t humbly repented of sin, please do so today. If not, then there is an eternity ahead and the unrepentant will be separated from God, eternally!
