Revelation 3:19 NKJV — “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.”

Remember when you were a child and misbehaved? Did you have one of those mothers who pulled a switch or better said made you pull a switch? She would try her best but most times her point failed to come across as strongly as she intended.

Then the words came that struck fear in our hearts. You just wait till your father gets home. Uugghhh. After ever how long it took him to get home there was angst. Then the dreaded moment. The belt would come out and discipline was served. Then the words. “This hurts me more than it hurts you. I love you.”

I never realized the gravity of those actions until I had my children.  Then what my father said rang true. How much more so than with our Heavenly father? He disciplines us because He loves us. Thank Him today for His discipline. It draws you closer to His will.
